Sales , Marketing and Service Strategy

Anticipatory Set
The instructor will write a question on the board that states “What are two of your best traits?”  The instructor will ask the students to take 2 minutes and think about words to describe the product.  The instructor will ask the students to answer and place the answers on the board.

Direct Instruction (10 min)
The instructor will ask the students to take out their business plan directions simultaneously showing them on the projector.  The instructor will discuss the necessary elements to complete the Sales, Marketing and Service Strategy for the Business Plan.  The instructor will ask if there are any questions.

Guided Practice (60 min)
The Instructor will hand back the product descriptions to each group.  The instructor will ask each group of two to merge with another group of two.  The instructor can assign the groups or let the students merge themselves.  The instructor will tell the students that they need to take one of the product descriptions and develop a new advertising campaign for the product.   The group will include an account director who will be responsible for presenting the campaign to the class, two copywriters responsible for writing the advertisement, an art director responsible for the graphic layout of the commercial.  Each group will present their advertisement to the class.  The class will vote on the best commercial by secret ballot and the top three will receive extra credit.  Each group will hand in their advertising campaign.

Independent Practice (1 min)
The instructor will remind the students of the completion date for the Sales, Marketing and Service Strategy of the Business Plan.

Checks for Understanding
The students will submit the Sales, Marketing and Service Strategy to the instructor on the specified date.  The instructor will review the Sales, Marketing and Service Strategy for errors or omissions and meet with each individual or group to discuss changes for the final version.
